Seeing a warning that Cromojo got an error from the Google Search Console API? It’s almost always a simple mismatch between the URL you submitted and the property set up in Google Search Console.

What the error usually means

You’ll see something like: “We received an error from the Google Search Console API when inspecting some pages on this site.” In most cases it’s one of these:

  • The URL isn’t part of your verified domain. You can only submit pages for a domain you own in GSC, you can’t submit example2.com from an example1.com property.

  • A protocol or subdomain mismatch, often an http:// vs https:// difference, or www vs non-www, between your sitemap and the property in GSC.

How to fix it

  1. Check that the URL belongs to your verified domain in Google Search Console.

  2. Make sure the protocol (http vs https) and www/non-www match between your sitemap and your GSC property.

  3. If it still happens, contact support@cromojo.com and we’ll investigate with you.
